Trace-in-Metal

•Trace-in-Metal Microdots survive Copper & lead being melted down. The Microdots have been extensively tested and their extreme resilience to heat, (>1 400°C ) and the relatively low melting point of Copper & lead allows the Microdots to remain intact, meaning their codes can be read and traced back to source. (Pictured: A Trace-in-Metal Microdot recovered from molten lead)

•The heat resilience of the Trace-in-Metal Microdots has been independently tested as part of the Police Approved Secure by Design Scheme. No other Asset Marking System can withstand these temperatures.

•The Trace-in-Metal Microdots are infused into metal using a patented process employing ballistics. These infused Microdots provide a covert method of indelibly marking Copper . By doing this, we create a very strong deterrent against dealing in the metal, because criminals know they cannot get rid of the Microdots. Traditional methods involving melting Copper or lead into ingots will not get rid of the Microdots. This hits criminals involved in buying stolen metal where it hurts - in their pockets!

•Thousands of Trace-in-Metal Microdots are also sprayed onto the surface of the Copper or lead sheets  and cables suspended in a UV reactive lacquer. These overt Microdots carry the same codes as those that are infused, providing the police with a quick and easy method of detection. The expected life span of the Trace-in-Metal lacquer is in excess of 20 years.

•Uniquely we also mark the Copper or lead sheet with the postcode of the Trace-in-Metal installation. This provides police and other agencies with the ready means of establishing the provenance of the metal without the need for interrogating the secure Trace-in-Metal Database.

•Trace-in-Metal is installed by trained contractors. Although this attracts an additional cost, this ensures that the Trace-in-Metal product is installed correctly and that the product continues to perform throughout the expected life span.
